Five Naxalites Killed in Chhattisgarh Encounter

Location: Kanker, Chhattisgarh

In a significant encounter in the Abujhmadh jungle at the Kanker Narayanpur Border, five Naxalites were killed by security forces. A large number of weapons were recovered during the ongoing exchange of fire. IG Bastar P Sundarraj confirmed the recovery of the bodies and weapons, and stated that the search operation continues. Two jawans were injured but are out of danger and receiving treatment in Raipur hospital.

Government’s Efforts

Chhattisgarh Deputy CM Arun Sao emphasized the government’s commitment to making Bastar Naxal-free, highlighting the efforts of security forces in remote areas. The operation is part of a broader strategy to develop Bastar by eliminating Naxal influence.

Previous Encounters

Earlier, on November 8, security forces engaged in a major operation in Bijapur district, resulting in the death of three Naxals, including a platoon commander with a bounty of Rs 8 lakh. This operation involved the District Reserve Guard, Special Task Force, Central Reserve Police Force, and the elite CoBRA unit.
