Five Naxalites Killed in Chhattisgarh Encounter

In Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district, five Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces on Tuesday. The joint anti-Naxal operation, which started on June 30, involved the District Reserve Guard, Special Task Force, Border Security Force, and Indo-Tibetan Border Police.

According to preliminary information, several Naxalites were injured, but no security personnel were harmed. The operation is ongoing, with a focus on eliminating Naxal activities and restoring peace in the region.

Last month, a Naxalite was killed in a similar encounter in the Dhamtari district. Security forces have been preparing for more operations in the dense forests of Dantewada during the monsoon, as these have yielded positive results in the past.

IG Bastar P Sundarraj stated that the morale of the security forces is high, and they have gained a decisive edge against the Naxals. The forces plan to continue their efforts to block Naxal corridors and disrupt their funding.

Additionally, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted extensive searches in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-infested regions related to the murder of BJP leader Ratan Dubey. The NIA seized mobile phones, a tablet, cash, and Naxal pamphlets during the searches.
