First Fog of the Season Causes Breathing Issues in Ambala, Haryana

Ambala city in Haryana experienced its first fog of the season on a Wednesday morning, which arrived later than usual. The thick fog reduced visibility and mixed with pollution, causing breathing difficulties and an unpleasant odor. Residents, including Pankaj Dhiman and Vinod Giri, reported issues like cough, sore throat, and irritation. Manveer, a school student, also faced similar problems. The fog led to traffic congestion as vehicles slowed down due to low visibility.

Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality remained ‘very poor’ with smog covering the city for the sixth day after Diwali. Toxic foam was seen on the Yamuna River, indicating high pollution levels. The Supreme Court questioned the Delhi government about the flouting of the firecracker ban during Diwali and asked for measures to prevent it in the future.
