Fire in Manila’s Binondo Area Kills 11 People
A tragic fire broke out in a residential-commercial area in Binondo, Manila, resulting in the death of 11 people. The fire started at 7:20 am in a canteen on the fourth floor of a building on Carvajal Street due to a liquified petroleum gas (LPG) leak. It was extinguished by 10:04 am.
According to Kagawad Nelson Ty of Barangay 289, the victims were trapped in the building. Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna has responded by deploying the Manila Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) to assist the affected families with psycho-social, medical, and financial support.
