Patients were transferred to other hospitals for continued treatment. Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh expressed sorrow over the incident, noting that 80 to 81 people were rescued, but one cancer patient died due to smoke inhalation. A total of 54 patients were moved to another hospital.
