Fire at Pakistan Stock Exchange in Karachi: No Casualties Reported

A fire broke out at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) building in Karachi, leading to a two-hour suspension of trading activities. Sindh Rescue 1122 spokesperson Hassaan Khan confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident.

The fire started on the fourth floor of the Ali Habib Trading Company building located on I.I. Chundrigar Road. As soon as the Central Command and Control received the information, two fire brigade trucks were dispatched to the scene. In total, six fire brigades and one snorkel were used to extinguish the fire.

Trading was halted at around 10:30 am and resumed at around 12:30 pm. After the fire was brought under control, the KSE-100 index, the main index of the PSX, gained 484 points in intraday trade, reaching 80,697 points by around 2:00 pm.
