Fire at Arihant Industrial Estate in Ahmedabad: Two Dead, Three Injured

A fire erupted at Arihant Industrial Estate in the Odhav area of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Monday. The incident occurred around 1:15 pm due to a blast in shed no. 75, Banshee Powder Coating.

Details of the Incident

According to the fire department, five rescue teams were sent to the scene. The fire resulted in the deaths of 50-year-old Rameshbhai Patel, the owner, and 25-year-old worker Pawan Kumar. Patel’s son, Vasudev, was injured and taken to the nearest hospital. Additionally, Dungarsingh Bahadursingh Rajput, the owner of shed no. 74 Ganesh Plastic, and 22-year-old worker Surpalasi Thakur were also injured and hospitalized. Shed no. 76 Akash Industries reported damage but no casualties.

Cause of the Fire

SS Gadhavi, the Nikol fire station officer, explained that the fire was caused by a blast due to pressure in the oven used for powder coating. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem to Civil Hospital.
