On Tuesday, a physical fight broke out in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly, leading to a ban on guest entry without the Speaker’s permission. The altercation began when opposition members were not allowed to speak, causing tensions to rise. The session was adjourned for 15 minutes as lawmakers, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members Niak Wazir and Iqbal Wazir, exchanged kicks and punches. This incident raised concerns about the safety and decorum of the assembly.

New Speaker Sworn In

Earlier this year, Babar Saleem Swati of PTI was sworn in as the new Speaker of the KP Assembly, succeeding Mushtaq Ghani. During the session, Swati received 89 votes, while Ihsan Ullah Khan of the Peoples Party received 17 votes.
