Fawad Chaudhry Criticizes PTI’s Strategy and Government’s Plan to Ban the Party

Islamabad [Pakistan], July 18: Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry shared his thoughts on the government’s plan to ban the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) during an interview on ARY News. He mentioned that even leaders of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) were surprised by this announcement.

Chaudhry emphasized that the government would need to justify the ban on the party founded by Imran Khan. He stated, “Even PML-N leaders were surprised by the announcement of banning the PTI,” and added that the country’s politics cannot progress without PTI’s founder.

He criticized PTI’s strategy, stating that it has not been effective in securing Imran Khan’s release from jail. According to Chaudhry, PTI has been relying too much on lawyers and lacks a solid political plan. He suggested that PTI should have formed alliances with other parties like JUI-F, Jamat-e-Islami, and GDA to strengthen their position.

Chaudhry also mentioned that PTI and JUI-F have the street power to jointly hold protests and exert pressure for Imran Khan’s release. He noted that he remains a member of PTI despite internal conflicts and leadership changes, stating, “Had I left the party, I would have been minister today on basis of the Forms 47.”
