Farooq Abdullah Urges Action Against Rising Terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir

Farooq Abdullah, the National Conference Chief and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has expressed concern over the increasing terrorism in the region. He urged the central government to take steps to stop terrorism, describing the situation as ‘alarming and dangerous’.

Abdullah also called on Pakistan to abandon terrorism and pursue peace. He stated, ‘We will pray that God puts some sense into their heads. It will not solve the matter but rather turn it worse. They should repeatedly think through it and try to walk on the path of peace.’

His comments came after a recent attack by Pakistan’s Border Action Team, which included commandos from the Pakistan Army and terrorists, along the Line of Control in Kupwara district. The attack resulted in the death of one Pakistani intruder and one Indian Army soldier, with four others injured.

In recent months, there has been a spike in terror attacks in the Jammu region, including an attack on an army convoy in Kathua and encounters in Doda and Udhampur.
