Farooq Abdullah Calls for Investigation into Budgam Terror Attack
In Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah has called for an investigation into a recent terror attack in Budgam. He expressed concerns that the attack might be an attempt to destabilize the government in the region. Abdullah emphasized the importance of capturing the attackers alive to uncover who is behind these actions.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta condemned the attack, describing it as cowardly, especially during festive times. He suggested that some individuals in the area might be acting under instructions from Pakistan and stressed the need to identify those responsible.
The attack occurred in Mazhama, Magam area of Budgam district, where terrorists targeted two non-locals. The victims were taken to a hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. Security forces have cordoned off the area to apprehend the attackers.
In a related incident, an encounter between security forces and terrorists took place in Srinagar’s Khanyar area. The Kashmir Zone Police reported an exchange of fire during a search operation.
Earlier, on October 29, security forces neutralized three terrorists in Akhnoor following an attack on an Army convoy. Additionally, on October 20, a doctor and six construction workers were killed in a terrorist attack on a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh national highway.
