Famous Umpires Join Legends League Cricket in Jodhpur
Legendary umpires Billy Bowden, Ranmore Martinesz, and TV umpire Jerry Matibiri have joined the Legends League Cricket for its third season, which starts on Friday. These umpires will officiate a total of 25 matches across four cities: Jodhpur, Surat, Jammu, and Srinagar.

Billy Bowden shared his excitement, saying, “The Legends are legends for a reason and it’s fantastic to be here for this opportunity. Everyone’s in great form and they are very competitive and we are looking forward to a competitive season. Jodhpur is a great place to go and a great place to umpire and it is exciting to watch and be a part of the Legends League Cricket.”
Ranmore Martinesz added, “To watch all the superstars in one place is really good and I have been following these legends all the way from their youth matches. Their status has been stamped and it is great to watch them all come back and play competitive cricket. Legends League Cricket is going to have a really good season once again and I am happy to be a part of it.”
About the Umpires
Brent “Billy” Bowden, known for his unique signals and showmanship, is one of the most famous cricket umpires. Ranmore Martinesz, the 2016 domestic umpire of the year, has officiated in World Cups as part of the ICC umpire panel. Jeremiah ‘Jerry’ Matibiri and Nigel Llong, both ICC panellist umpires, have also officiated in World Cups and ICC qualifiers.
Match Venues and Dates
The Legends League Cricket will kick off at the Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur on September 20, then move to the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat on September 27. The third leg will be at the Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu from October 3, and the final leg will be at the Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar from October 9 to 16.
