Family of Biker Akshat Garg Questions Police Investigation After Fatal Accident in Gurugram

The family of 22-year-old biker Akshat Garg, who tragically died in a collision with a car driving on the wrong side near Cyber City in Gurugram, has raised serious concerns about the police investigation.

Family’s Concerns

Akshat’s elder brother, Mayank Garg, expressed frustration, stating, “We did not understand the law in our case. If we go out on the road without a license, we get a challan, the police stop you, and a case is also filed. But here, such a big incident happened, a person died, and the police did not even ask for his (accused) license and later released him.”

The incident occurred on Sunday, September 15, at around 6 AM. Mayank Garg added, “We got a call from his friend around 7:00 that Akshat has met with an accident in Gurugram and he is very serious in the hospital. When we reached the hospital, we came to know that he has died.”

Police Response

On Saturday, police officials stated that legal action has been initiated. ACP DLF Gurugram Vikas Kaushik said, “This incident happened last Sunday. The deceased was going on his motorcycle near Cyber City, and a black-colored vehicle came from the wrong side, due to which he had an accident and died on the spot. He was taken to the hospital but was declared dead there. We have started legal action and after registering a case under the law, we are taking further action.”

The police have taken the blood sample of the accused and will take necessary action if any trace of alcohol is found. The accused, a 25-year-old, admitted to driving on the wrong side to save time. The police emphasized that no justification exists for driving on the wrong side and that strict action is taken against traffic rule violators.

Family’s Demand

Mayank Garg demanded a speedy investigation, saying, “We demand from the police that the investigation that has been slowed down should be speeded up. We do not know why they are doing it so slowly. The more you delay the investigation, the more the accused will keep running away.”
