Early Monday morning, explosions were heard in Kyiv and other cities across Ukraine as Russia launched a massive missile and drone attack. Air raid sirens sounded across the country just before 6 a.m.

Impact on Kyiv

Vitali Klitschko, the Mayor of Kyiv, reported that several districts in the capital were without power. He also mentioned issues with the water supply on the city’s right bank.

Other Affected Cities

According to Ihor Terekhov, the Mayor of Kharkiv, there were also explosions in Kharkiv. Explosions were reported in Odesa, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Kremenchuk, Dnipro, Khmelnytskyi, Kropyvnytskyi, and Kryvyi Rih.

Casualties and Damage

Ihor Polishchuk, the Mayor of Lutsk, said that an apartment block had sustained damage, resulting in one death.

Ukrainian Air Force Report

The Ukrainian Air Force initially reported the activity of 11 Russian bomber aircraft and numerous kamikaze drones heading towards cities across the country. Later, they reported another six Russian bomber aircraft in the air and the launch of multiple groups of missiles of various types.

Ukrainian Strike on Belgorod

Meanwhile, a Ukrainian strike on Belgorod killed five people and wounded 13 others, including three minors. This was reported by Regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.

Incident in Kramatorsk

In a separate incident, Vadym Filashkin, the Governor of the eastern Donetsk region, reported that an overnight Russian strike had hit a hotel in Kramatorsk. Two journalists were wounded, and a third one is missing. The journalists were British, American, and Ukrainian nationals.
