On Sunday night, a tragic explosion occurred near Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to eleven others. The explosion, which took place in an oil tanker, caused at least ten vehicles parked nearby to catch fire.

Injuries and Response

Among the injured was a foreigner, and four individuals, including one in critical condition, were taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical College for treatment. Police surgeon Summaiya Syed confirmed the details of the injured.

Emergency Response

Police, Rangers, and rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene to secure the area and assist those affected. Firefighters are actively working to extinguish the flames that have engulfed nearby vehicles.

Investigation Underway

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation. Crime Investigation Department Director General Asif Ejaz Shaikh stated that the nature of the explosion is not yet clear.

Government Actions

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has requested a detailed report from the police chief and directed authorities to provide the best medical treatment for the injured. Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar has also ordered a comprehensive investigation and urged the swift transfer of the wounded to hospitals.
