Shah Fahad, a local citizen, was identified as the owner of the vehicle. The attackers drove the explosive-laden vehicle into a car carrying foreign nationals, causing significant destruction and damage to nearby vehicles. The explosion was so powerful that even a bomb-proof vehicle was severely affected.

Following the incident, Sindh police and other law enforcement agencies re-examined the explosion site and secured the area. CCTV footage was collected for further investigation. The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan condemned the attack, which took place near Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, and resulted in the deaths of at least three people, including Chinese nationals, and injuries to 17 others.
