Around 10 people were injured and one person is missing following a significant explosion at the Ordnance Factory Khamaria in Jabalpur district on Tuesday morning. The blast occurred at approximately 10:45 AM during the process of boiling out an old missile.
Details of the Incident
According to M N Haldar, Chief General Manager of the factory, the explosion happened while handling a Pechora missile. Four workers were in the building at the time; three were injured and taken to Mahakaushal Hospital, with one in critical condition. Efforts are ongoing to locate the missing fourth person.
Additionally, seven individuals from a nearby building were also injured and have received medical attention. An inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of the explosion.

We are committed to supporting our employees’ treatment.” Anand Sharma, another official, confirmed that the blast involved a 30-40 year old Russian Pechora bomb and emphasized that safety protocols are being reviewed.
