Exciting Wins for Manipur, Jharkhand, and Bengal in Hockey India Junior East Zone Championship 2024
The fourth day of the second Hockey India Junior Men and Women East Zone Championship 2024 at Netaji Subhas Eastern Centre, Salt Lake in Kolkata was full of thrilling matches. Manipur Hockey, Hockey Jharkhand, and Hockey Bengal claimed victories in the women’s category, while Hockey Association of Odisha, Hockey Bihar, and Manipur Hockey won in the men’s category.
Women’s Category Highlights
Manipur Hockey started the day with a big win over Assam Hockey, scoring 12-0. Devi Mutum Priya was the star, scoring six goals. Other goal scorers included Reena Koijam, Tanu Shorensangbam, Chanu Leishangthem Natali, and Devi Laishram Ritu.
In the second match, Hockey Jharkhand defeated Hockey Bihar 10-0. Roshni Aind, Mundu Sukarmani, Kumari Shanti, Captain Rajni Kerketta, and Salomi Nag all contributed to the score.
Hockey Bengal won the third match against Hockey Association of Odisha with a score of 3-0. Shanti Horo, Captain Subila Tirkey, and Laltlanchhungi scored the goals for Hockey Bengal.
Men’s Category Highlights
Hockey Association of Odisha won against Hockey Jharkhand 2-0. Sunil Lakra and Deepak Pradhan scored the goals.
Hockey Bihar achieved a 7-2 victory over Assam Hockey. The goal scorers for Hockey Bihar were Atit Kumar, Amrendra Kumar Singh, Aakash Yadav, Lama Shanu, and Vikash Kumar Yadav. Assam Hockey’s goals were scored by Manasrij Boro and Neck Ali.
In the last match of the day, Manipur Hockey beat Hockey Bengal 2-1. Captain Singh Vivek Kumar scored for Hockey Bengal, but Manipur Hockey made a comeback with goals from Khangembam Somikant Singh and Captain Silheiba Lisham.
