The Hockey India League is making a thrilling comeback with the Men’s Auction set to take place in New Delhi. This Sunday, 400 domestic and over 150 international players will vie for a spot in one of the eight teams. The league will kick off in Rourkela later this year.

Each team has a budget of Rs 4 crores to select players, categorized into three price slabs: Rs 2 lakhs, Rs 5 lakhs, and Rs 10 lakhs. The auction will feature top Indian players like Harmanpreet Singh, Hardik Singh, and Manpreet Singh, along with former legends such as Rupinder Pal Singh and Birendra Lakra. International stars like Arthur van Doren and Gonzalo Peillat are also eager to join.

Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey expressed excitement about the league’s revival, highlighting the unprecedented number of players participating. Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh added that all preparations are in place for an exciting auction, with hopes of forming strong teams.

Each team will have 24 players, including 16 Indian players (with 4 juniors) and 8 overseas players, promoting both local and global talent.
