England’s Cricket Tour to West Indies
Jordan Cox and Rehan Ahmed Join the Squad
England has announced the inclusion of wicketkeeper-batter Jordan Cox and spinner Rehan Ahmed in their white-ball squad for the upcoming tour to the West Indies. Both players are currently with the English Test team, which is playing against Pakistan in Rawalpindi.
Jordan Cox will return home to join the team departing for Antigua on October 28. Rehan Ahmed, who is part of England’s XI for the third Test, will arrive in the Caribbean later. Cox, who debuted internationally in a T20I series against Australia, is expected to earn his first ODI cap in the Caribbean. He will also serve as England’s wicket-keeper during the New Zealand series, as Jamie Smith will be on paternity leave.
Rehan Ahmed is one of three wrist-spinners in the squad, alongside Adil Rashid and Jafer Chohan. Liam Livingstone has been named captain for the ODI series, while Jos Buttler will return for the T20I phase. The tour begins with the first ODI in Antigua on October 31, followed by a five-match T20I series starting November 10.
