England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and chose to bowl first against West Indies in the first Test of a three-match series at Lords. The series is part of the ICC World Test Championship.

James Anderson, with 700 wickets, is playing his final Test. The second Test will be at Trent Bridge from July 18-22, and the third at Edgbaston from July 26-30.
