In Balochistan, Pakistan, there have been increasing cases of enforced disappearances, with 22 more individuals recently reported missing. This brings the total number of disappearances this month to 56. In the Noshki district, nine people were taken during raids by Pakistani forces on October 7 and 8. The individuals, including Master Fareed Ahmed and Abdul Malik, were reportedly taken to unknown locations.

On October 19, 12 more individuals disappeared in Dera Bugti during similar raids. The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) confirmed these incidents, expressing concern for the safety of the missing individuals, including Dr. Wazir Bugti and SHO Tariq Bugti. The BYC urged international intervention to stop these practices.

Additionally, Abdul Malik, son of Muhammad Yousuf, was reportedly disappeared on October 11 in Turbat by the Counter-Terrorism Department and Frontier Corps. The United Nations Human Rights Committee has raised concerns about these disappearances during its review of Pakistan’s human rights record, noting a significant increase in cases since 2017. Over 7,000 cases have been reported in Pakistan from 2004 to 2024, with political activists and human rights defenders being disproportionately targeted.
