Embraer Plans to Expand Supply Chain in India with Mahindra Partnership

Embraer, a global aerospace company, is looking to expand its supply chain in India. Roberto Chaves, Executive Vice-President of Global Procurement and Supply Chain, emphasized India’s robust aviation and defense industry, seeing strong potential for Indian manufacturers to become key suppliers for Embraer’s defense, commercial aviation, and executive jet businesses.

A high-level delegation from Embraer visited India to evaluate potential suppliers for areas such as aerostructures, machining, sheet metal, composites, forgings, wire harness, and hardware and software development. This visit comes amidst growing relations between Brazil and India.

India is a strategic market for Embraer, with over 44 aircraft in the country, including those operated by the Indian Government and Indian Air Force. Embraer and Mahindra announced a partnership in February 2024, aiming to offer the C-390 Millennium transport aircraft for the Indian Air Force’s Medium Transport Aircraft program. This partnership supports the ‘Make in India’ initiative and may include an assembly line for the C-390 in India.

Embraer, headquartered in Brazil, operates in Commercial and Executive aviation, Defense and Security, and Agricultural Aviation, providing aircraft and systems along with after-sales services and support.
