Elon Musk Ready to Join Donald Trump’s Team if He Wins the Election
Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has expressed his willingness to serve in Donald Trump’s administration if Trump wins the upcoming US presidential election. Musk made this announcement on his social media platform X.
In a recent interview, Trump mentioned that he would consider Musk for a cabinet or advisory role if he returns to the White House. Trump also discussed the possibility of ending a USD 7,500 tax credit for electric vehicle purchases, stating that tax credits and incentives are generally not beneficial.
Last month, Musk endorsed Trump’s candidacy after an assassination attempt on the former president in Pennsylvania. Musk’s endorsement came through an interview on X, which was viewed over a billion times. Under Musk’s ownership, Trump’s account on X was reinstated after being permanently suspended following the January 6, 2021, attack on Capitol Hill.
According to a Wall Street Journal report, Musk has pledged USD 45 million per month to a new political action committee supporting Trump. This committee, America PAC, will focus on voter outreach and registration efforts to counter the Democrats’ campaigns.
The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5, with Kamala Harris running for the Democratic Party after Joe Biden withdrew from the race on June 21.
