Elon Musk Denies Giving $45 Million Monthly to Support Donald Trump’s Campaign

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has rejected a report claiming that he plans to give $45 million a month to a new super political-action committee (PAC) supporting former US President Donald Trump’s presidential run. Musk called the report ‘fake’ in a sarcastic post on X, where he shared a picture of two gnus with human limbs captioned ‘Fake GNUS.’

The Wall Street Journal had reported that Musk plans to donate to America PAC, a committee formed in June to focus on voter registration and early voting in swing states. America PAC aims to counter the Democrats’ robust ‘get out the vote’ campaigns and has already raised $8.75 million in contributions for the three months ending June 30.

Musk, currently the world’s richest person with an estimated fortune of over $250 billion, has previously stated he does not intend to donate to the campaigns of Trump or US President Joe Biden. However, he has recently shown support for Trump, especially after a shooter attempted to assassinate Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. Musk endorsed Trump and wished him a speedy recovery.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) identified the gunman as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. The case is still under investigation.
