In Jashpur district, Chhattisgarh, an elephant trampled four people to death, officials reported. The tragic event happened in Gamhriya ward-9 under Bagicha Nagar panchayat. The victims included a man, his daughter, another family member, and a neighbor who tried to help.

Jashpur Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Jitendra Upadhyay stated that the Forest department team reached the spot after receiving the information. The elephant, roaming alone at midnight, caused chaos in the area. More details are awaited.

Earlier this year, similar incidents occurred in Telangana and Kerala. In Telangana’s Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district, a wild elephant killed two people within 24 hours. In Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district, a man named Kodilil Biju was killed by an elephant while it was overturning a coconut tree.
