Egyptian President El-Sisi Meets Denmark FM and EU Representative to Discuss Gaza Ceasefire
On Monday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held separate meetings with Denmark’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lars Lokke Rasmussen, and the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell. The meetings were also attended by Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty.
During the discussions, President El-Sisi stressed the urgent need to prioritize de-escalation and reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. He highlighted the importance of exchanging hostages and detainees to improve the dire living conditions of Gaza’s residents.
President El-Sisi also reiterated the necessity of a serious and decisive approach to enforce the two-state solution and establish an independent Palestinian state. This, he said, would fulfill the aspirations of the region’s peoples for justice, security, stability, and development.
