Eastern and Western Railways Boost Train Services for Diwali and Chhath Puja

In preparation for the festive season of Diwali and Chhath Puja, Eastern Railway has announced an increase in special train services. Kaushik Mitra, the Chief Public Relations Officer of Eastern Railway, stated that the number of special trains has risen from 33 last year to 50 this year. Additionally, 400 extra services are being provided to ensure smooth travel for passengers. The focus is on adding more general coaches to accommodate everyone traveling to celebrate with their families.

Special trains are being scheduled from Asansol to Patna on November 3rd, 4th, and 5th, with all general coaches, arriving in Patna by 8 PM. Other routes include Malda to Udhna, Howrah to Khatipura, and Asansol to Khatipura, with an emphasis on Delhi-bound areas.

Meanwhile, Western Railway is also enhancing its services with 200 special trains for the festive period. Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, mentioned that 40 of these trains are managed by the Mumbai Division, with 22 heading to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Odisha. These additional services are closely monitored and coordinated by senior officers to meet passenger demand.
