The second day of the 1st Hockey India Junior Men & Women Inter-Zone Championships 2024 saw exciting matches in both the Women’s and Men’s categories.

Women’s Category Matches in Ranchi

The first Women’s match of the day in Ranchi saw East Zone narrowly defeat North Zone 1-0, thanks to a late goal by Roshni Aind in the 54th minute. In the second match, SAI Bal secured a 1-0 victory over Academy with Kumari Peetambari scoring in the 48th minute. The final Women’s match had West Zone dominating South Zone with a 6-0 win. Goals were scored by Kajal, Samiksha Yadav, Dhaware Sukanya, Sanika Chandrakant Mane, and Patel Sneha.

Men’s Category Matches in Lucknow

In Lucknow, East Zone triumphed over South Zone 3-1. Ricky Tonjam scored twice, and Abhishek Tigga added another goal. South Zone’s only goal came from Dodium Subramanyam Hemanth Kumar. North Zone defeated West Zone 6-2 in the last Men’s match of the day. Key players included Singh Jobanpreet, Rajveer Singh, Rohit Singh, and Lovenoor Singh for North Zone, while Karan Kumar Sahu and Captain Tushar Parmar scored for West Zone.

Notable Match on Sunday

On Sunday, North Zone defeated SAI Bal 3-2 in a thrilling Men’s Pool A encounter. SAI Bal’s Captain Rahul opened the scoring, but North Zone’s Sukhmanpreet Singh equalized. Kushal Bopaiah Cb restored SAI Bal’s lead, but late goals from Khan Fahad and Singh Jobanpreet secured the win for North Zone.
