EAM Jaishankar Meets Journalists from Eurasia and Envoys from Various Countries

New Delhi, India – External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with journalists from 10 Eurasian countries who were on an immersion visit to India. He discussed India’s long-standing ties with these countries and the significant changes happening in India over the past decade. Jaishankar appreciated the journalists’ interest in fostering greater exchanges with India.

Jaishankar shared on X, “Delighted to meet journalists from 10 Eurasian countries who are on an India immersion visit. Spoke to them about our long-standing ties, the transformation unfolding in India over the last decade and its prospects for the Global South. Nice to see their interest in greater exchanges with India.”

Meetings with Envoys

Earlier in the day, Jaishankar met with envoys from Kuwait, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Panama, and China.

Meeting with Kuwaiti Ambassador

Jaishankar met with Kuwaiti Ambassador Meshal Mustafa Jasim Alshemali to discuss bilateral relations, the interests of the Indian community, and the welfare of Indian workers in Kuwait. Jaishankar conveyed his best wishes for the Ambassador’s successful tenure.

Meeting with Sri Lankan High Commissioner

Jaishankar also met with Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner Kshenuka D. Senewiratne to discuss recent developments in bilateral relations, including his visit to Colombo. He wished her a successful tenure.

Meeting with New Zealand High Commissioner

New Zealand High Commissioner Patrick John Rata called on Jaishankar to discuss the India-New Zealand relationship and its many possibilities. Jaishankar wished him a successful tenure.

Meeting with Panama’s Foreign Minister

Jaishankar held talks with Panama’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Janaina Tewaney Mencomo, and thanked her for her consistent support of the India-Panama relationship. He expressed his intention to remain in close touch.

Meeting with China’s Ambassador

China’s Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, met with Jaishankar to discuss the bilateral relationship between India and China. Jaishankar emphasized their common interest in stabilizing and progressing the relationship and wished the Ambassador a successful tenure.
