The Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) held a meeting of its Political Affairs Committee and is likely to announce its first list of candidates for the Haryana elections. Former Haryana Deputy Chief Minister and JJP chief Dushyant Chautala said that if the party forms the government, 50% of teaching posts in Haryana institutions will be reserved for women.

Chautala mentioned, “A meeting of the party’s political affairs committee (PAC) and advisory board was convened. In the meeting, various points of the party’s manifesto were finalized, like increasing the compensation for damaged crops from Rs 15,000 per acre to Rs 25,000 per acre. The party will release the first list of candidates for the Haryana assembly elections by tomorrow late evening.”

JJP has allied with Chandra Shekhar Azad’s Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) for the upcoming Haryana Assembly polls. The alliance will contest all 90 Assembly constituencies in Haryana, with JJP competing on 70 seats and ASP on 20 seats. Haryana will go to polls on October 5 in a single phase. Other political parties, including BJP and Congress, are also finalizing their candidates for the polls.
