Dushyant Chautala Confident in Alliance with Azad Samaj Party for Haryana Elections

In Sirsa, Haryana, former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala expressed strong confidence in his alliance with the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) for the upcoming elections. Chautala, the great-grandson of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal, cast his vote alongside his family and emphasized the importance of voting in shaping Haryana’s future.

Chautala stated, “This time we are in alliance with the Azad Samaj Party and we will get good numbers.” He urged the people of Haryana to vote, highlighting the democratic process as a “big festival.” He expressed confidence that their coalition would achieve a significant majority, allowing them to continue their developmental work in Haryana.

Regarding potential alliances, Chautala mentioned that discussions could occur after the election results on October 8. Previously, the BJP and JJP had formed an alliance in the 2019 Assembly elections, which lasted over four years. However, the BJP now relies on independent MLAs for support.

In the 2019 elections, the JJP secured 10 seats, while the BJP and Congress won 40 and 31 seats, respectively. For the 2024 elections, the JJP has partnered with Chandra Shekhar Azad’s Azad Samaj Party to contest all 90 constituencies, with JJP contesting 70 seats and ASP 20.

Voting in Haryana is scheduled from 7 am to 6 pm, with 1,031 candidates contesting across 90 constituencies and 20,632 polling booths set up. Results will be announced on October 8, alongside those of Jammu and Kashmir. Key parties include the BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, and alliances like INLD-BSP and JJP-ASP.
