The lively Vijayadashami celebrations of Durga Puja came to a close with the immersion of the goddess’s idols at Wah Umkhrah River in Polo, Shillong. A colorful procession took place on Sunday, marking the end of the festival.

Thousands Participate in the Event

Thousands of devoted Hindus participated in the event, walking alongside lorries that carried Durga idols from various pandals in Shillong to the Ghat at Polo for the immersion ceremony.

Organized and Peaceful Ceremony

The East Khasi Hills District administration made meticulous arrangements to ensure a smooth and peaceful immersion ceremony. The Central Puja Community (CPC) reported that 250 Puja Mandal Committees participated in this year’s Vijaya Dashami celebrations across Meghalaya.
