Dubai Police Hosts Event to Fight Drug Abuse at Dubai Mall
Abu Dhabi [UAE], July 12: Dubai Police successfully concluded a three-day awareness event at Dubai Mall to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The event, themed ‘My Family… My True Wealth’, aimed to educate the community about the dangers of drugs.
Event Highlights
The General Department of Anti-Narcotics organized the event, featuring educational activities in collaboration with strategic partners like the Community Development Authority, Dubai Customs, Erada Centre for Treatment and Rehabilitation, Health Authority, Al Ameen Service, Emirates Health Services, and the National Rehabilitation Centre.
Key Speakers
Major General Expert Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Assistant Commandant for Criminal Investigation Affairs, emphasized the importance of awareness and education in combating drug abuse. He stated, “We firmly believe that awareness and education are essential steps to protect the community from the scourge of drug abuse.”
Major General Eid Mohammed Thani Harib, Director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, highlighted the role of families in preventing drug abuse. He said, “We firmly believe that the family plays a crucial role in protecting children from falling into the trap of drug abuse.”
Activities and Workshops
The event included workshops and awareness lectures for families, awareness sessions by Dubai Customs, and specialized treatment programs showcased by the Erada Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre and the National Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre. The Health Authority organized workshops for parents, and the Al Ameen Service outlined its role and communication channels.
The Emirates Health Services Corporation discussed the psychological aspects of addiction treatment, while the Criminal Investigation Department provided information on the E-Crime platform for reporting cybercrime. The Positive Spirit Council and the Council of People of Determination organized side events, including a free art workshop for children and recreational competitions.

Major General Expert Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansoori honored the strategic partners for their efforts in making the event a success.
