Dubai Culture and Arts Authority has announced the open call for the Al Marmoom Short-Film Competition, part of the fourth Al Marmoom: Film in the Desert festival. This competition aims to enrich the local film scene and support filmmakers by providing a platform to share their experiences and knowledge, inspiring new talent to join the field.

Films should be between 3 and 30 minutes long and free from any offensive content.

The festival aims to enhance the sustainability of the film industry in the region, create an inspiring environment for industry professionals, and provide a cultural experience for the public. The third edition of the festival screened over 70 films from Emirati, Gulf, Arab, and international filmmakers, and hosted talks, workshops, and exhibitions inspired by the history of cinema.
