DRI Hyderabad Seizes Hydroponic Weed Worth Rs 7 Crore at Airport
In Hyderabad, Telangana, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) made a significant drug bust at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. On October 31, two Indian passengers arriving from Bangkok were intercepted based on specific intelligence. Upon searching their luggage, officers discovered 13 vacuum-packed packets hidden inside chocolate packets. These packets contained a greenish, lumpy substance that tested positive for marijuana using a field test kit.
The total weight of the seized hydroponic weed was 7.096 kilograms, valued at Rs 7 crore. The passengers were arrested under the NDPS Act, 1985, and are currently in judicial custody. Further investigations are ongoing.
Telangana Police Drug Bust
In a separate incident, Telangana Police arrested an individual named Krishna Ram for selling drugs. Acting on credible information, Chanda Nagar police raided a house and found 150 grams of MDMA drugs. Krishna Ram, a 28-year-old from Rajasthan, was visiting relatives and allegedly sold drugs for easy money. Despite having no prior cases, he had a history of drug selling.
