Dr. Farooq Abdullah Speaks Out on NEET 2024 Exam Issues
Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], June 24: Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President of the National Conference, has called the alleged irregularities in the NEET 2024 exams a crime against students. He stated that many students who studied hard to qualify are now facing trouble due to these issues.
Dr. Abdullah said, “This is a crime committed against students…Many qualified for the exams by studying, not buying papers. Now they are put through trouble again.” He acknowledged the difficulty of conducting a nationwide exam and the unfortunate need to repeat it if necessary.
He also congratulated the new members of the 18th Lok Sabha, expressing hope that the parliament will work to strengthen the country and promote unity among different communities.
The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting the NEET-UG exams, is under scrutiny for alleged irregularities, leading to protests and demands to disband the NTA. An unprecedented 67 candidates achieved a perfect score, raising concerns.
The Ministry of Education has formed a high-level committee led by former ISRO chairman Dr. K. Radhakrishnan to recommend reforms in the examination process and data security. The committee will submit its report in two months.
