Pollution-Related Health Concerns Rise in Delhi

Dr Amit Jindal’s Observations at RML Hospital

In New Delhi, patients experiencing symptoms like cough, sneezing, cold, throat itching, watery eyes, and skin burning have been visiting the Outpatient Department (OPD) at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital. Dr Amit Jindal from RML Hospital attributes these symptoms to the increasing pollution in the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR).

Dr Jindal noted, “The pollution has increased tremendously in Delhi NCR. We are seeing patients with respiratory, eye, and skin complaints majorly in our OPDs. We have seen an increased number of patients in our chest OPD.”

New Pollution-Related Illness Clinic

Under the guidance of medical superintendent Dr Ajay Shukla, RML Hospital has started a pollution-related illness clinic every Monday from 2-4 pm. Dr Jindal mentioned that patients sometimes feel depressed and hopeless due to pollution, so psychiatry has been included in the clinic to provide counseling.
