Donald Trump Excludes Nikki Haley and Mike Pompeo from New Administration
In Washington DC, US President-elect Donald Trump announced that he will not invite former Ambassador Nikki Haley or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to join his new administration. Despite Haley’s endorsement during his campaign, Trump decided against including them due to criticism of Pompeo by his supporters. Trump expressed gratitude for their past service but confirmed they will not be part of his team.
Trump shared this decision on his Truth Social site, stating, “I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley, or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to join the Trump Administration, which is currently in formation.” He added his appreciation for their previous work and thanked them for their service to the country.
Additionally, Trump announced the formation of the Trump Vance Inaugural Committee, Inc., a 501(c)(4) organization, to plan his inauguration on January 20, 2025. This committee will be co-chaired by Steve Witkoff and Senator Kelly Loeffler, both longtime friends and supporters of Trump.
Contrary to reports, former US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer was also not asked to return to the administration. Nikki Haley, who was Trump’s final challenger in the GOP primary, had endorsed him, emphasizing the importance of a unified Republican Party.
