Trump stated that the suspected gunman, Ryan Wesley Routh, acted on the ‘highly inflammatory language’ of the Democrats. This incident marks the second attempt on Trump’s life since July.
Routh, who had an AK-47-style rifle, a go-pro camera, and two backpacks, was arrested on I-95 after escaping the scene. Trump, in an interview, said, ‘He believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it.’ He accused Biden and Harris of destroying the country and called them ‘the real threat.’
Democrats have often blamed Trump for inciting violence, especially after the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Over the weekend, Biden suggested Trump was inciting violence with his remarks about Haitian immigrants. Biden emphasized that any president should reject hate and not incite it.

Following the shooting incident near his Florida golf course, Trump assured his supporters that he is ‘safe and well.’ He emphasized that nothing will slow him down and thanked his supporters in a fundraising email. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham confirmed that Trump is in good spirits.
The second assassination attempt follows an earlier incident in July when Trump was shot in the ear at a rally in Pennsylvania, where one person was killed, and others were injured before the gunman was shot by police.
