Donald Trump Challenges Kamala Harris to Debate on Fox News Instead of ABC News

Former President Donald Trump has announced that he will not participate in the ABC News debate scheduled for September 10. Instead, he has proposed an alternative debate with Vice President Kamala Harris on Fox News on September 4.

Kamala Harris responded on social media, stating, “It’s interesting how ‘any time, any place’ becomes ‘one specific time, one specific safe space.’ I’ll be there on September 10th, like he agreed to. I hope to see him there.”

The change has raised objections from the Harris campaign, with communications director Michael Tyler accusing Trump of trying to avoid the agreed-upon debate. Tyler stated, “Donald Trump is running scared and trying to back out of the debate he already agreed to and running straight to Fox News to bail him out.”

Trump’s proposed debate on Fox News is set to take place in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state, with anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum moderating. Trump emphasized that the debate would have a live audience, unlike the previous debate with President Biden, which was held in an empty venue.

Trump also expressed his readiness to accept Harris as the new Democratic candidate, following President Biden’s withdrawal from the race. He criticized the sudden change, calling it a “coup” within the Democratic Party.

As the debate date approaches, it remains unclear whether ABC News will proceed with its planned debate, giving time only to Harris.
