The Election Commission of India (ECI) has scheduled polling in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in three phases: September 18, September 25, and October 1. The notification for polling will be issued on August 20, and the last date for withdrawing candidature is August 30.

Harvinder Singh stated, “A model code of conduct was enforced when the date was announced. We have convened training and interactive sessions with political parties.”

According to the ECI, the counting of votes will occur on October 4. The election body has instructed enforcement agencies to ensure impartiality and transparency for smooth and fair polling, providing a level playing field.
