DMK’s Saravanan Annadurai Criticizes Government Over NEET-PG Exam Postponement

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], June 23: After the Centre postponed the NEET-PG exam, DMK spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai criticized the government, stating that nearly 50 lakh students have been affected and there has been no response from the Prime Minister. Annadurai said, “BJP government is incompetent. It is allowing organized gangs to leak papers. Four high-quality exams have been cancelled. Almost 50 lakh students have been affected by the sheer criminal negligence of the BJP party. There is not even a single word from the PM.”

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) Examination, which was scheduled for June 23, and announced that a new date would be provided soon. Students expressed their disappointment and frustration over the decision. Sunanda Pansari, a NEET PG candidate, said, “This is extremely wrong. I have travelled 600 km to attend the exam. The exam was scheduled for March, then postponed to July, and now postponed again. We should have been informed at least 24 hours before. There is no information on the paper leak as of now.”

Another candidate, Dikhsa, mentioned that the situation is very strange with widespread cheating and lack of discipline. Jyoth Chouhan, another candidate, added that the last-minute notice caused great inconvenience. “NTA informed us at the last moment, 10 hours before, that the exam has been postponed. If they had to reschedule, they should have announced that at least a few days ago. They didn’t distribute exam centres properly, candidates got very faraway places at exam centres. Students from Vadodara had exam centres in Nashik and Madhya Pradesh. And then when they reached there, they were informed that the exam had been postponed. All are having great difficulties,” he said.

The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting the NEET-UG exams, faced criticism over alleged irregularities, leading to protests and demands for its disbandment.
