DMK Criticizes NEET, PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi Respond to Concerns
The DMK has reiterated its opposition to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), criticizing the BJP-led government for being incompetent in conducting the exam. DMK spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai stated that NEET affects social justice and disadvantages the oppressed class of society.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured students that the government is serious about addressing NEET issues and is working on a ‘war footing’ to prevent such incidents. He emphasized that those who play with the future of youth will not be spared.
Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, referred to NEET as a ‘commercial exam’ designed for rich students, not meritorious ones. He highlighted the fear among students and their families regarding the fairness of the exam.
This year’s NEET UG exam, conducted on May 5 by the National Testing Agency, faced allegations of paper leaks and irregularities. With 23 lakh candidates appearing, the results declared on June 4 led to protests after 67 candidates achieved perfect scores of 720 out of 720.
