DK Shivakumar Warns of BJP’s Alleged Plans Against Gruhalakshmi Scheme
In Bengaluru, Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has alerted the public about the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) alleged plans to halt the Gruhalakshmi scheme, which provides Rs 2,000 monthly to women. He responded to former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda’s claims, stating that the BJP and JDS are conspiring against the scheme. Shivakumar expressed confidence in Congress’s success in the upcoming by-elections on November 13, asserting that the people support Congress’s initiatives.
Shivakumar also addressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s accusation of the Congress government collecting Rs 700 crore from liquor sellers, calling it baseless. He mentioned that the Chief Minister challenged the PM to prove the allegation. Additionally, Shivakumar responded to Union Minister Pralhad Joshi’s claims against Justice Michael D’Cunha, accusing the BJP of vendetta politics. The D’Cunha Commission report recommended prosecuting former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa over PPE kit procurement.
Regarding the Wayanad by-poll, Shivakumar predicted Priyanka Gandhi’s victory, noting support from opposition leaders. The election follows Rahul Gandhi’s decision to retain Rae Bareli after winning both constituencies in the General Elections.
