Former India cricketer Dinesh Karthik expressed his happiness for Ravichandran Ashwin after his remarkable performance against Bangladesh on the first day of the Chennai Test. Ashwin remained unbeaten, scoring 102 runs off 112 balls with a strike rate of 91.07, including 10 fours and 2 sixes.

Karthik took to his official X handle to call Ashwin one of the greatest all-rounders in India. He wrote, ‘Stand up and applaud for one of the greatest all-rounders from our soil. Well done @ashwinravi99. Couldn’t be happier for you, bringing up his century in his home ground yet again.’

Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl. India’s top-order struggled, with the team at 34/3. Yashasvi Jaiswal (56) and Rishabh Pant (39) formed a 62-run partnership, but India was reduced to 144/6. Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja (86*) then built an unbeaten 195-run partnership, ending the day at 339/6.
