Digvijay Chautala Congratulates Vinesh Phogat on Entering Politics
Sirsa (Haryana) [India], September 7: Digvijay Chautala, the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) candidate from Dabwali, congratulated wrestler Vinesh Phogat for joining politics. He expressed his admiration for her struggles and achievements, likening her to a sister. Chautala welcomed her into politics and hoped she would serve the people of Haryana well.
Chautala also expressed confidence in JJP’s success in the Dabwali constituency, noting large gatherings at campaign events. He mentioned that if former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala from the Indian National Lok Dal filed his nomination, he would withdraw his candidature out of respect.
The JJP and Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) alliance announced their candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections, with Dushyant Chautala contesting from Uchana and Digvijay Chautala from Dabwali. The alliance will contest all 90 Assembly constituencies, with JJP competing on 70 seats and ASP on 20.
The Congress released its first list of 31 candidates, including former wrestler Vinesh Phogat from Julana. Olympian wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat joined the Congress, with Punia being appointed working president of All India Kisan Congress.
The Haryana Assembly elections will be held on October 5, with the last date for filing nominations on September 12. The vote counting will take place on October 8. In the 2019 elections, the BJP formed a coalition government with the JJP, but the alliance was dissolved earlier this year.
