Dhruv Khattar Seeks Bail in $15 Million Cyber Fraud Case Involving US Citizens
The Rouse Avenue court in New Delhi has issued a notice to the CBI regarding a bail plea by Dhruv Khattar, who is accused in a cyber fraud case where American citizens were defrauded of $15 million.
Details of the Case
On Friday, Special CBI Judge Mohd Farrukh issued the notice and scheduled the next hearing for August 6. Dhruv Khattar’s bail application was filed by advocate Arun Khatri. This is his second bail application; the first was dismissed on July 27.
Judicial Custody
On Saturday, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Nishant Garg remanded Dhruv Khattar and two others, Dhairya Khattar and Abhishek Bisht, into judicial custody after they were produced in court following CBI interrogation. The investigation officer had requested judicial custody for the three accused.
CBI Investigation
Earlier, the CBI reported that during searches at the accused’s residences on July 30, 2024, they recovered Rs 17.99 lakh in cash and other incriminating materials. The CBI had arrested 43 people, including 4 women, on July 25 in connection with the case.
