DFCCIL Celebrates 19th Foundation Day
The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) marked its 19th Foundation Day at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The event celebrated nearly two decades of advancements in India’s rail freight infrastructure.

The celebration was attended by prominent figures including Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Railways, Information and Broadcasting, Electronics and Information Technology, who joined via video conferencing. Other notable attendees were Minister of State for Railways V. DFCCIL has made significant progress in enhancing India’s freight landscape, aiming to reduce logistics costs and boost economic growth. Operating across seven states, DFCCIL supports various industries, promotes the MSME sector, and generates employment.
Major Corridors
The Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors are key projects, connecting Ludhiana to Sonnagar and Dadri to JNPT Port, respectively. These corridors feature advanced rail infrastructure managed by Operation Control Centres in Prayagraj and Ahmedabad.
Operational Milestones
In 2024, DFCCIL completed over 96% of its projects, handling 13% of Indian Railways’ freight load. The corporation reported significant growth in freight volume and traffic earnings, setting new records.

As DFCCIL moves towards full operational capacity, it aims to redefine freight transport in India, contributing to sustainable growth and supporting the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
