Devotees Gather at Govardhan Temple for Mundiya Purnima Mela in Mathura
Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, is witnessing a large gathering of devotees at the Govardhan Temple ahead of the Mundiya Purnima Mela. The event is a significant festival in the Mathura district, attracting many Krishna devotees who participate in the 21 km Girraj Parikrama.
Preparations for the Mela
Mathura District Magistrate (DM) Shailendra Kumar Singh announced that all necessary arrangements have been made for the Mela. The preparations include the installation of CCTV cameras and a public address system to maintain connectivity and manage the crowd effectively.
Various departments, including Health, Electricity, Transport, Revenue, and Police, are working together to ensure the smooth running of the fair. Over 600 sanitation workers have been deployed, and the use of polythene is discouraged. DJs are banned to ensure clear communication through the public address system.
Health and Safety Measures
To ensure the safety and well-being of the attendees, 20 health centers and 21 ambulances have been set up. The district hospitals are fully prepared with additional beds and doctors on duty round-the-clock. Control rooms and the Khoya Paya Kendra room are also in place to assist in case of any issues.
Krishna devotees from around the world come to Mathura to participate in the 21 km Girraj Parikrama, making the Mundiya Purnima Mela a significant event in the region.
